The scream ripped through the kill house just as a round snapped past my ear and punched into the drywall behind me. Not blanks. Not sim rounds. Real.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Audrey Miller. And in that moment, standing in a dark training corridor at Fort Walker, I knew something had gone very wrong.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody down!\u201d Chief Barrett shouted, dragging one of the trainees behind cover.<\/p>\n

But no one moved fast enough.<\/p>\n

Then Barrett stepped forward, eyes narrowing.<\/p>\n

No time for that.<\/p>\n
